This is by design. Our games are designed to be as flexible as possible so they don't really know the difference between a sprint tournament and a regular tournament. The best thing to do is to end the game as soon you've beaten the target score. This is accomplished in different ways for different games. Hit the escape key to end the game in solitaire and click on the "give-up" button in Triple Stars.
