Q.When I click on the green Tournament Solitaire 2000 icon on the menu, the screen goes black (or flashes) and then takes me right back to the menu screen. What do I do?
A.In almost every case we've seen this problem is caused by one of two things:
1. There is a problem with your MIDI drivers or setup. To get around it you should disable the MIDI music on our game(s). In the menu screen select the options menu item and uncheck the "Play background MIDI music..." 2. If after disabling the MIDI the problem persists then it is most likely caused by a problem with DirectX. One way to diagnose this is to use the diagnostic tool that comes with DirectX version 6 or greater:
  • Open Windows Explorer or My Computer.
  • Double click on your hard disk's icon.
  • Find the Program Files folder and open It.
  • Find the DirectX folder and open it.
  • Find and open the Setup folder.
  • Look for an icon called DXDIAG and run it.
This program allows you to run several tests on DirectX to make sure it is working properly. If you don't find this tool or find problems with DirectX, many players have solved this problem by downloading and re-installing DirectX. You can find the latest version at http://www.microsoft.com/directx
