A video pinball game takes a lot of computer resources to get realistic action
on the playfield. It requires a video card that has 3d Hardware Acceleration
functions. Most computers sold in the past few years have this capability but
if your computer is old or has a bare bones video card the game may run slow.
Also your video card may be capable of running the pinball game ok but the
hardware acceleration function may be turned off. The adjustment for this is
normally found in the Windows Control Panel in the Display/Settings
/advanced section. Some video cards have settings for different degrees of hardware acceleration in the form of a slider. We suggest starting at 100% acceleration and if that does not work experiment with the other settings.
The pinball game also requires DirectX which comes with all version of
Windows from win98 up. However the DirectX version installed on your computer may be an older version and your DirectX may need updated. You can do this through the Windows updates link.
DirectX includes a diagnostic program named "dxdiag". You can run this program
by selecting START/RUN then type in dxdiag. Running the various directx tests
by selecting the tabs at the top of the page in this program may identify any
directx problems.
If none of these suggestions increase the speed of the pinball game the only other option is to update your video card.
