F1 in Pinball

Postby merlelevy » Tue Oct 26, 2010 12:16 pm

During Pinball, a tip popped up that instructs you to press the F1 Key to avoid "choppy play." I had ignored it until my ball ricocheted back to the shooter, which wouldn't reshoot the ball as it would have on a real world machine. The game wouldn't advance to the next ball because the dead one was stuck. Thinking that the F1 key would take me to a "help" screen the way it would in most programs, I used it. The game went dark for a scary few seconds. When it came back up, the game screen was off-center to the right by nearly an inch. The empty vertical strip on the left was black, and the right edge was cut off so that you cannot see the countdown when you log in. I tried using F1 to undo, but that didn't work. I tried "escape," which just ended the game. I started a new game, but it looks like F1 made a permanent change.

The game was a 2-cent game, and I felt like a cheapskate requesting a refund of 2 cents, but I would like to undo the effects of the F1 key. Is there anything short of uninstall and reinstall that would return the display to normal? If I have to uninstall/reinstall to put things right again, will that remove the record of my standings in open tournaments? If so, would that be just in Pinball or all games?
