Unable to load games

I just installed tournament games on a different laptop ( windows xp ) and when I try to load a game I am getting the error - ' Unable to set display mode. (0).

Anyone have some insight why I am getting this error?

If you get the error "unable to set display mode(0)", it is usually because DirectX cannot get full access to your video card. The times when I have seen it in the past, I would have another game running and minimized. After stopping the other game, the error went away. If there are no other games running, it still could be another application running on your computer that uses the video card in the same way that DirectX does, in essence blocking out any other application from using the video card in the way full screen games need. If you continue to have problems, you may want to check your video card's driver date. Many times we don't have the latest and greatest driver installed, and this can cause all kind of headaches!
