One strategy in JackBlack is to try and get a total of 11 points in the top columns. There are more cards with a value of 10 than any other card. When an ace comes up you can play this in an empty column. 2 thru 9's can also be played in an empty column. Then when a number card is delt try an match to get 11. For example if a 2 is on on the board and a 9 is delt play it on the 2 to make 11. Although there are only 4 aces (11 points) using the above strategy may allow you to get several more columns with 11 as the total. You may Have several columns with 11 as the total with 10s delt allowing you to get 21. However you may want to watch the bonus amount/column and wait to get the 21 when the column with 11 has a big bonus in effect. The maximum bonus amount is 3000 while the smallest bonus is 100. So getting 21 with a 3000 point bonus is worth the same as 30- 100 point bonus. There also are some 1000 , and 500 point bonus's. Using this strategy should result in higher scores especially if the 3000 point bonus's come at the right time and the right column.
