Question: Dear Dr. October, my wife has barricaded herself in the upstairs bathroom for the last several days. She has two Ak-47 assault rifles, an M-79 grenade launcher, three cans of Raid, eleven pounds of Godiva chocolate, her coffee pot and, of course, her computer. The house is in shambles. The children are frightened and the dog has left home. I reached her via email and she states that she’ll come out if, and only if, you provide a satisfactory explanation of the Skill Ranking System. Please help! Dr October: Nothing to worry about! She’ll be out of coffee and chocolate in a couple of weeks. Wait her out! Of course, if you’re hoping to work things out in time for the July 21st anniversary cruise to the Bahamas I’ll try to help. THE SKINNY ON THE SKILL RANK What is the skill rank? The skill rank is a composite number that represents how well you play and how often you win. The higher your rank in a tournament the better your skill rank adjustment. Our system only considers your best score in each tournament to determine your skill rank. A rank of 100.00 is the lowest possible rank and is where everyone starts until they’ve participated in a enough tournaments to get an accurate ranking. The best possible ranking is 1.00 . To receive skill rank of 1.00 you must consistently score high (and win) the tournaments you compete in. Does my skill level affect my ability to win? Absolutely not! It’s just a measure of how well you’ve done so far. Note: One of the best strategies for winning at TournamentGames.Com is to choose tournaments best suited to your skill level. More on this next! How can I use my skill rank to my advantage? Many players use this number as a guide to how they are improving their skills. We use the skill rank to create certain tournaments that are only open to players of similar skill levels. For example, beginner tournaments allow only those players with a rank lower than 30 to compete. A player with a rank of 42.50 could compete in this tournament. A player with a skill rank of 28.12 could not. Intermediate tournaments allow players who are ranked higher than 30 but less than 10. This allows beginner and intermediate players to get the hang of our site without having to compete against the heavy hitters right away. |
